PRENTA was founded with a simple goal: to create well-made children’s shoes that truly support growing feet and prioritise foot health.
The idea began in 2021, when founder Ashley Mihell struggled to find shoes that fit his own children properly. Like many parents, he experienced the frustration of ordering multiple pairs online, only to discover that most didn’t fit correctly. This sparked a vision for a brand that prioritises fit, comfort, foot health, and thoughtful design over fleeting trends.
Officially launching in 2024, PRENTA was created to fill a gap in the children’s footwear market. Too often, children’s shoes prioritise novelty over function. PRENTA takes a different approach, developing carefully constructed footwear designed to support natural foot development and everyday wear.
BUILT WITH EXPERTISE
What makes PRENTA unique is its close connection to the manufacturing process. Every shoe is developed with custom lasts and outsoles, ensuring consistent fit, flexibility and durability across the collection.
PRENTA works alongside experienced footwear professionals, who oversee product and brand development, tooling and production foundations. This hands-on approach allows the team to carefully test and refine every design before it reaches little feet.
DESIGNED FOR EVERY STAGE
PRENTA’s collections support children through every stage of early development, from soft leather pre-walkers to first walkers, lightweight everyday styles, and barefoot baby and kids’ designs that encourage natural movement.
Every pair is created with foot health at the forefront: comfort, flexibility and fit come first.
MADE RESPONSIBLY
Responsible production is at the heart of PRENTA. The brand works with Leather Working Group Gold-rated suppliers, repurposes leather wherever possible, and partners with Soles4Souls to redistribute outgrown shoes to communities in need.
PRENTA also focuses on foot health, designing barefoot styles that are tested to ensure they meet the highest standards for growing feet.
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Stocked in The Gold Boot, one of England’s oldest shoe shops.
- In 2025, we embarked on a new chapter, expanding PRENTA internationally by entering in-store retail across multiple countries and bringing our production and ethos to a global audience.
- In 2025, the footwear industry recognised our efforts by nominating us for Best New Brand and Best Use of Social Media at the Drapers Awards.
- PRENTA also won the recognition from parents themselves, winning Platinum Loved by Parents, Gold Moms Choice Awards, Gold Bizzy Baby Awards, and Gold Junior Design Awards.
